War of Words: Hassan vs LeBron

The Miami Heat may be struggling to secure wins this season but when we look on the bright side, we’ve got Whiteside. The 25 year-old center has been making waves on and off the court as he’s essentially emerged from the depths of irrelevancy to becoming one of the NBA’s premiere big men. He leads the league in blocks per 48 minutes and currently holds the 3rd highest PER ranking in the NBA, one spot ahead of Kevin Durant. Hassan is the sign of a very bright future for a Miami Heat team that is fighting to remain in the playoff picture.

Recently, the brash young big man had a few choice words for the self-proclaimed “King” when reporters asked him about having to guard Lebron James in their upcoming tilt…

“LeBron’s a good player,” Whiteside said. “I never really played too much against him. I’m not guarding him. Somebody else is pretty much guarding him. I just meet him at the rim.”

Most young players speak only in terms of awe and admiration when commenting on the league’s best, but Whiteside doesn’t seem like a guy who is scared of anyone and he is more than ready for the challenge.

Here is how Lebron responded to the not-so-gracious “praise” by Whiteside

Since then, Whiteside has been mostly mum towards the media when asked about this miniature war of words. Actions speak louder than words and it looks like he plans to allow his play to do the talking for him.

LeBron and Wade Overheard Discussing a Potential Reunion?

Did we Hear LeBron correctly?

At the end of the game on Christmas between the Heat and the Cavs, LeBron shared a candid moment with Dwyane Wade and sounded like he hinted towards a possible a reunion with the Heat. Don’t take our word for it, listen to the clip below for yourself [scroll to about 2:40 mark in video].

Dwyane Wade’s heartfelt statement on LeBron leaving

Today Dwyane Wade released a statement on his thoughts on LeBron leaving back to Cleveland.

“As a friend and a teammate, I am sad to see my brother LeBron leave to begin a new journey. In 2010, we decided to come together all for one goal — to win championships and we succeeded.

“We were friends when we first joined the league and created an unbreakable bond the past four years. Our collaboration will always be very special to me both personally and professionally. We shared something unique and he will always be part of my family.

“LeBron made the right decision for himself and his family because home is where your heart is. I know this was not an easy decision to make and I support him in returning to his roots.

“As an organization, a community, and as individuals, we achieved the goals we set when we first signed on together. We are champions.”
